Early Life and Career:
Kristin Kreuk was born in the year 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia. She attended Eric Hamber Secondary School, and wanted to study psychology, but her plans were thwarted after she received an offer to play Laurel Yeung in the 2001 hit family drama series, Edgemont. She went to play one of the lead roles in the 2004 teen comedy drama, Eurotrip, which was a commercial success. She then played the lead role of Naseem Khan in Vic Sarin’s film, Partition, in 2007. But by that time, Smallville had already established her as one of the leading newcomers. Her role of Lana Lang achieved critical acclaim, along with enthusiastic response from fans. The show became a hit, and just as it did for the other stars, it helped establish Kristin’s acting career as well.
Role in Smallville:
In Smallville, Kristin plays Lana Lang, a girl who has affection for Clark Kent. Her parents died early, but her aunt Nell adopted her. She is a sweet-natured girl. Later on in the show, she is tricked by Lex into marrying him. Kristin also discovers Clark’s real identity later in the series, and when everything becomes clear, they get into a serious relationship. She breaks her marriage with Lex, after coming to know about his ploys and fakes her own death to rope Lex for her murder’s charge. Things finally get straightened out, and both Lex and Kristin make an agreement that they will not bother each other anymore.
